Camping

Hello Christchurch people!
We are trying to plan walking the River Stour with a car, a small tent and public transport.
We think we have found campsites round Gillingham and Blandford Forum which will enable us to manage the first half of the walk but we are stuck. There does not seem to be a campsite anywhere near to Christchurch unless we go quite a way out. Are there any small farms you know of that allow camping? All the sites I found near Christchurch seem to be caravans only. (Happy to buy a camping loo if necessary!)
Any hints and tips for the walk would be appreciated. We hope to spend a few days in Christchurch at the end, exploring buildings, beaches, pubs and restaurants.
