Hi all (or the core few!)

I moved here at the end of August in 2009 so been here nearly 18 months and still finding my feet. I only found this forum today and it does not seem to be very well used, which is a shame. Maybe social events could be arranged so we can put faces to names? It might encourage people to post more then. Just a thought!

I love it here :)

Hello and welcome Helga, big thanks for posting :)
Its true, it is very slow here at the moment :(
I basically created it a few years ago and never really promoted it much.
I hope to spend far more time on it this year! B-)
I think it just needs a few regulars posting a few interesting topics to get this place kick started!
Thanks
mrix

And a bit more publicity. I for one would be really pleased to see this grow. I've been here 18 months and my friends are mainly from my local church but they are either very elderly, married and/or have young children so my social life is not as it could be. It doesn't help that I have no transport.

If we got this place buzzing eventually maybe we could as a community meet up once a month maybe, for coffee, lunch, walks on the beach, the opportunities are endless.

Those who have lived here the longest would be able to help us newbies around at the click of a mouse button.

There are several Christchurch pages on Facebook. What's to stop us having a page? Could you do that for us and then link to those pages? Get us in the public domain! YEAYYY! :))

I can set up a Christchurch facebook group, no problem at all! :)
If you plug in Google " Christchurch UK " we come up very high and in UK searches on the front page so its not all bad :)
Thanks for the idea`s and support Helga :)

Ermmmmm not on my computer :(

When I moved here in August 2009 I couldn't find much in the way of singles groups (as opposed to dating groups - not into those). I joined one that rarely meets in this area so I paid nearly £40 to join I group I can rarely participate in! AARRGGHH!

There's been a few things going on at the Regent Centre that I would not attend on my own but would have jumped at the chance if others in the same situation had wanted to do.

There seems to be so much to do but not that much fun on one's own.

Oh well. I am off to Women's workout gym to shed the Christmas pounds...........kilos.......... =))
