Celebrating the 900th Anniversary of the Christchurch Dragon
In the year 1113 nine Canons from the French cathedral of Laon undertook a fund raising journey through southern England from Kent to Cornwall. In Christikerca, upon the day of the annual Trinity Fair, they witnessed a five headed fire breathing dragon burning the town!
Christchurch Dragon Festival celebrates the 900th Anniversary of this incredible spectacle with events and activities centred on and about the weekend of Trinity Sunday (25th/26th May 2013) – the very date the dragon was seen in 1113.
