FREE community day of Dance in Christchurch
for all the family!
Step Out – A free community day of dance aimed at all ages will be taking place this Saturday 3rd July at The Grange School in Christchurch. Featuring a fun packed day with open dance workshops in the morning and performances in the afternoon.
Whatever the age, there’s something for everyone – creative dance for 3 to 6 year olds, street dance for 7 to 13 year olds and modern dance for anyone over 14 years. The doors are open to all - those wanting to try their hand at climbing will have an opportunity to use the outdoor climbing wall, or challenge family members to a game of rounders.
Get your taste buds going watching food demonstrations, enjoy a free lunch and get expert tips on new snacks and recipes from local food expert Ian Hewitt.
The afternoon promises performances as well as workshops local youth dance groups, Mad4dance, Pure Dance and Summer street Dance Group, a group formed through an intergenerational dance project present dynamic new work.
The finale of the day is a performance of ‘Tall Stories’ by professional dance theatre company ‘Swerve’ from Swindon which delves into the stories we hear and tell.
Step Out is absolutely FREE and in order to reserve your workshop place just come along and sign up on the day at 10.30am and places will be offered on a first come first serve basis. Workshops will start at 11am, and each age group will have 3 available time slots throughout the morning. The day will end at 3.30pm.
